Who is eligible for enrollment at Northside STEM Academy?
Northside STEM Academy (within Combre-Fondel Elementary) is open to any student entering grades K – 5 who are zoned to attend high schools in eastern Calcasieu Parish. Those high schools are Barbe, Bell City, Iowa, LaGrange, Sam Houston, and Washington - Marion. Northside STEM Academy is a K–5 magnet program with a STEM-integrated curriculum focused on engineering design projects, hands-on learning, and science investigations. We will also embrace an arts-integrated approach, in which all of our students will have the opportunity to demonstrate creativity and innovation, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving. Entrance testing is used to fill all open positions. Each applicant who registers for enrollment may choose from the allotted testing dates and times. Open positions will be filled based on test score rankings. Testing will take place on-site, with safety protocols in place to protect test administrators and applicants.
Applications are accepted online or in-person during normal school hours only.

Questions and Answers:
I have a kindergarten student entering for the first time. How will I pay the $20 registration fee?
- Since your student does not yet have a CPSB Student ID, the fee must be paid in person. Also, bring your students’ birth certificates and social security card to verify age, prior to paying.
How will I provide proof of residency if I register online?
- Bring a utility bill when you arrive on testing day.
How do I pay for registration online?
